Quickie:
Mirror's Edge is an action packed racing/platform game in first person, with a little shooting thrown in.
Graphics: 7
The game looks great, but there are a lot of little bits that add up. Like, obvious shadows going towards light sources, or "Dirty" walls that are shiney as well. Most of it seems intentional, so don't hold this against the game.
Sounds: 8.3
The ambient sounds are standard, but the quality of the voice-over and voice-acting really ups this score!
Gameplay: 7.6
The gameplay is very very easy to all who are familiar with first person shooters.
Fun: 8.7
The game is a near non-stop thrill ride.
Presentation: 7.8
Very well laid out, and MOSTLY logical.
Technology: 7.3
Very good graphics.. Aside from the general goofiness mentioned below, the visuals are very immersing and fun!
Overall: 8.6
Longer Review:
In Mirror's Edge, you play Faith, an information Runner. This game is first-person part platformer, part racing, and a little bit shooter. The story takes place in a totalitarian futuristic society, where free speech is abolished, as are most forms of free expression. Free expression is limited so strongly that Advertising, buildings, and to a large extent paintings tend to be monochromatic and very subdued. Heavy monitoring of electronic communications is in place, which is where runners come in. This is where the Runners come in to the story, they provide the only means of unrestricted communication.

The story is quite unfinished, seeming to set itself up for an episodic line of games. I'm not too keen on episodic games, as they have this disturbing tendency to never get finished. Anyways, assuming this is all there is it's still quite fun and a lot of time was spent preventing this review from getting posted because whenever I'm trying to think of what to write, I would go play instead!
The main focus on the completed plot in this episode involves the relationship between Faith and her sister Kate. Kate is wrongfully accused of a crime and it is left to Faith to free her! The game is all action, running and jumping with occasional shooting for flavor. The game uses the Unreal engine, so experience with first person shooting games helps, but is not required at all.

Easy and Medium game modes use "Runner Vision", highlighting routes in red to help you find where you need to go. This is a BIG help at first! After you win, you can play hard mode, which disables this feature. You can also disable it anyways...
This review took a long time as the game is so much fun! I recommend it highly!
Pros:
Hugs. =)
Running around on roof tops, climbing, pouncing on mean people, and hugs... how could I not like this game?
Cons:
Can only "Save" at the beginning of each chapter. So, if you get called away you had better pause it!
General Goofiness:
Not all games have this section... Some things just don't make sense.
One funny thing is Faith seems to have no idea what a door knob is used for. I can understand crashing through a door when running at top speed chased by a helicopter trying to shoot you... but when she's just idlely walking around and needs to open a door, she'll still kick it open.
Despite the city being comprised mostly of 30-50 (And one 300) floor buildings, there's never more then 2 or 3 people or cars seen on the streets.
Commuter trains run every about 20-30 seconds. We all wish it were so while we're sitting and waiting!
* Spoiler * In the story, a plot is uncovered to kill all of them, and with that a traitor who has been feeding those who made the plot everything they need to know. With the discovery of this plot AND traitor, no one ever thought to do anything about it, just keep going like nothing happened.
